Cookie Notice
This website sets no cookies. Here is what it does keep in your browser instead, why it is there, and how to remove it.
1. The Short Version
We set no cookies on this website. Not a necessary cookie, not a preference cookie, not an analytics cookie and not an advertising cookie. There is no consent banner here because there is nothing to consent to.
That is a statement you can check rather than take on trust. Open your browser's developer tools on any page of this site, look at the cookie store for this domain, and it is empty.
2. What A Cookie Is, And Why We Have None
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and then send back on every later request, which is what makes it useful for recognising a returning visitor and what makes it a tracking mechanism. We do not need to recognise you, so we do not ask for one.
Three ordinary reasons to set cookies do not apply to us. There is no visitor login on this site, so there is no session cookie. There is no analytics product on this site, so there is no measurement cookie. There is no advertising network on this site, so there is no advertising cookie and no third party setting one from a script we embedded.
3. What We Do Keep In Your Browser
The calculator needs somewhere to keep a small amount of state between one click and the next. It uses browser storage rather than cookies, which is a meaningful difference: browser storage is never transmitted automatically with a request, so it cannot function as a tracker the way a cookie can. Every item below stays on your own device unless this notice says otherwise.

4. Clearing It
Closing the tab removes the session identifier on its own. The rest is cleared by clearing site data for blacksnowintel.com in your browser's settings, which is the same control that clears cookies for a site that sets them.
Clearing it costs you nothing but the saved checks and the view preference. Nothing on this site stops working, and the calculator runs exactly as it did the first time.
5. No Advertising, No Analytics, No Tracking
We run no advertising network, no analytics provider, no tag manager, no heatmap tool, no session recorder and no social media pixel. Nothing on this site loads a script from a party that would be in a position to set a cookie on our behalf, and no such party is present on our Sub-Processors page.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, because there is no mechanism here that would produce anything to sell.
6. Do Not Track And Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal, it is honoured by default here, because the behaviour those signals ask us to stop is behaviour we do not carry out. You have an opt-out right you do not need to exercise against us, and if that ever changes this notice changes with it and says which signal we act on and how.
7. If This Position Changes
If we ever set a cookie, this page will name it, say what it holds, say how long it lasts and say what it is for, before it is set. Where a cookie is not strictly necessary we will ask for consent first and record the answer.
We will not add a consent banner as a substitute for keeping this position. A banner that asks permission for tracking we could have avoided is a worse outcome than no banner and no tracking.
8. Changes To This Notice
This is version 1.0, published on 17 August 2026. Changes are published at this address with a new version number and date.
